Meet the staff

Dr. Lee Schrader
Executive Director

Dr. Lee Schrader has been a Humane Society volunteer for the past 25 years, and Executive Director since 2010. She is a board-certified veterinary internist and is in practice at Suburban Veterinary Clinic in Dayton Ohio. Dr. Schrader is also deeply involved in farmed animal welfare and regularly reviews undercover videos to help identify and stop abuse of farmed animals. She is on the leadership committee of the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association and is a member of the Shelter Veterinarians Association and the Society of Veterinary Medical Ethics. Dr. Schrader is certified in life-saving shelter management.

Danyel Bageant
Humane Officer, Veterinary Technician &
Adoption Center Manager

Officer Bageant graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with an associates degree in veterinary technology to become a registered veterinary technician. Danyel was a veterinary technician at Hayfield Animal Hospital in Alexander Virginia for four years and three years at Cape Fear Animal Hospital in Fayetteville North Carolina. Officer Bageant has now been in humane law enforcement for the past 10 years where she began at the Fayette Humane Society. Danyel is not only one of our humane officers, but also our office manager where she manages the day to day operations in our Adoption and Business Center. We also utilize her veterinary technology training during our surgery days at our clinic, assisting veterinarians. Officer Bageant has completed the State of Ohio Humane Agent Training through the Ohio Peace Officer's Training Commission, After the completion of humane agent training and becoming a sworn officer of the court, she has the capability of full arrest powers when it comes to protecting the welfare of an animal. Some of Danyel's favorite past times include spending time with her family, church activities, shopping, and taking her dogs for a walk.

Brad Adams
Humane Officer, Outreach Director &
Assistant Adoption Center Manager

Officer Adams attended Miami Trace and graduated from a homeschooling program out of Atlanta, GA. Brad began his career in humane law enforcement at the Fayette Humane Society in 1999, 17 years ago where he was a humane officer for four years. Officer Adams left our humane society and became an animal control officer for the City of Greenfield and later, a police-911 dispatcher for the Greenfield Police Department. In 2013 the Fayette Humane Society contacted Officer Adams to offer him a humane officer position. Aside from being a humane officer, he is our outreach and education director. Brad is also an investigator and response team member for the Ohio SPCA. Officer Adams has completed the Ohio Humane Agent Basic Training through the Ohio Peace Officer's Training Commission. After the completion of the humane agent training and becoming a sworn officer of the court, he has the capability of full arrest powers when it comes to protecting the welfare of an animal. In addition to the required state training, he has voluntarily continued with other training such as; Specialized Animal Cruelty Investigations, Advanced Interview Analysis and Interrogations, Dog Fighting Investigations, Investigative Photography, Officer Safety, Investigations Using Social Media, Animal Cruelty Veterinary Forensics, and Crime Scene Searches. Some of Brad's favorite past times include spending time family and friends, traveling, movies, bowling, and hiking.

Karen Zimmerman
Animal Care Technician

Karen grew up with animals and has been with the humane society since 2013. Her family always had at leat one cat and one dog, but usually had many more including turtles, fish, hampsters, rabbits, chicken, and parakeets. Working with animals has been her dream job. Prior to working at the Fayette Humane Society, she teached in Arizona for 20 years. Karen has earned degrees at Asbury College and Bowling Green State University.

Tammy comes to us from the Greenfield area. She has became an animal care technician in the spring of 2016.
